Bustling winery & eatery, located on the beautiful Waiheke Island, encapsulating stunning elevated views and a relaxed atmosphere. Take a no-prisoners approach to refined rustic cuisine, showcase seasonality and create a dedicated following amongst Waiheke locals and the hordes of visitors alike. 

With a new menu on the horizon, our clients are looking to take the venue on a journey to the next level. Since last summer they have been busy creating new spaces each with distinctly different vibe. This bustling, multifaceted venue offers a mix of a la carte, functions and weddings to challenge & reward you.  

Role
An exciting opportunity to be a part of the growth at one of Waiheke’s most quintessential  venues that embraces the islands rich history of leisure and escaping the rat race. You will be given the opportunity to come into this setting and play your part. Be the chef’s right hand person, ensure a smooth running of the kitchen, and assist in the creation of new dishes and the development of the tight knit crew of chefs.

This role is on Waiheke Island and will require relocation to Auckland / Waiheke Island.

Previous experience with functions, weddings and a bit of a deft had with desserts would be advantageous but not essential.

As Sous Chef, you will be;
  • Executing the head chefs vision
  • Assisting in menu development
  • Hands on and operational, not afraid to get your hands dirty
  • Potentially taking the lead on functions and the sweeter side of the menus
  • Help lead a core brigade of chefs which will grow for the seasonal highs of summer.
  • Play a key role for compliance aspects and training in the kitchen, including FCP mgmt.
